Our Admissions Department is eager to assist you in any way we can. We invite you to contact NUMSS with any questions you may have.
All pedorthics courses are offered online and in English. Lectures are available online on demand through the internet. Students also have the option of receiving the lectures on a portable hard drive, which can be connected to a compatible television or computer for convenient viewing.
In addition to their online studies, students are required to complete practical work involving skills such as plaster casting, foam casting, and the fabrication of foot orthotics. This practical work is completed by students at their own time, location, and expense.

Why Study Pedorthics?
Many of the largest Canadian extended health plan insurers (including Manulife, Sun Life Insurance Company of Canada & Blue Cross Insurance Company of Canada) no longer cover custom made foot orthotics & orthopedic shoes if dispensed by chiropractors, physiotherapists, registered massage therapists and osteopaths. However they will continue covering orthotic footwear if dispensed by pedorthists.Health professionals who provide orthotics to their patients should consider becoming a pedorthist so they could continue to orthotics footwear to their patients who are in need of these services.
