The American Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (AAOMP) has approved a proposal by Dr. Shawn Pourgol, President of NUMSS, to offer free board exams (valued at US$2,500) exclusively to students of the National University of Medical Sciences.
These board exams are a required step for becoming a member of AAOMP. Membership is essential to earn the title of Registered Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (ROMP).
Holding the ROMP designation is mandatory for anyone in the United States who is not already a member of a regulated health profession and wishes to obtain a GEHA license—which is required to legally practice as an osteopathic manual practitioner in all 50 U.S. states.
